Free Tweet Deleter runs entirely in your browser, using the X session you are already signed in with. All requests are sent directly from your browser to X, no server needed. Backups are also saved before deletion.
How Long Does It Take?
X (Twitter) allows around 200 deletions and 500 unlikes every 15 minutes. The extension paces itself, waits out each window and resumes on its own, so a few thousand items take a few hours of running in the background. The benefit of this approach is that your information is never sent to a third party server. Progress is also saved after every item, meaning the extension can resume after a closed tab, restart or sleep.
Can It Reach My Oldest Posts?
X (Twitter) only allows the 3,200 most recent items per category to be accessed. To access older items, first delete recent ones taking up the 3,200 item window, then rescan.
Which Browsers Does It Support?
It is built and tested for Google Chrome on Mac, Windows, Linux and ChromeOS. Any Chromium based browser that supports Chrome extensions, such as Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc or Vivaldi, should work the same way.
